CYPRESS — November 3, 2026. Cypress residents can recycle household batteries by sealing them in a clear plastic bag and placing the bag on top of the blue recycling cart on collection day, the city says.
How the battery program works
Valley Vista Services, the contracted hauler, asks residents to bag and seal batteries and place them above the blue cart rather than mixing them into ordinary recyclables. Handling requirements may vary for damaged or specialty batteries.
Medical sharps are a different service
The same municipal page says residents can request a free sharps disposal mail-back kit by contacting Valley Vista. Needles and similar items should never be thrown loose into trash or placed into recycling carts.
Help with questions
Call Valley Vista customer service at 714-380-5450 to confirm accepted battery types, kit availability or a missed recycling collection.
